Real-time Disease Intelligence & Epidemic Response System - Nairobi Region
The Public Health Surveillance Web Map API turns this demo dashboard into a reusable data service that epidemiologists, ministries of health, labs, and analytics vendors can plug directly into their own systems. It exposes spatially aggregated case counts, time series by disease, severity and R0 estimates, quarantine and vaccination zones, and hotspot/prediction layers in machine‑readable JSON/GeoJSON that are optimised for map rendering and analytic pipelines. Developers can query by disease type, time window, severity band, or pre-defined administrative areas to power their own custom situation rooms, SMS alerting systems, or analytical notebooks without having to rebuild GIS workflows from scratch.
JapakGIS can deploy this API on top of real surveillance feeds (DHIS2, lab systems, hospital data, or field-collected case line lists) and configure role‑based access controls so that partners see only the views they are entitled to. The same engine that drives the live heatmaps, timelines, and scenario simulations here can be tailored for country‑level emergency operations centres, donor dashboards, or regional early‑warning platforms—while JapakGIS manages the spatial indexing, performance, and cartography behind the scenes.
